End of 2019 Newsletter

Debie Henkel, Immediate Past-President

This will be the last Chapter Newsletter for 2019 – the year flew by for me, how about you all!?

Here’s a recap of July, September and October meetings…

A Huge THANK YOU goes out to Shari and Will Steber, independent owners and product manufacturers of Timber Pro UV Coatings, for kindly hosting the July FACTORY TOUR. It was a warm summer evening with an intimate gathering of loyal Portland Chapter Members who enjoyed Shari’s homemade brownies and dinner catered by Famous Dave’s. Will and Shari generously shared stories of their humble beginning as visionaries of their award winning unique wood stain protectant products and escorted us through their Burnside office and warehouse. Thank you again to all attendees for your support of this successful Portland homegrown business.

In September Associate Member Nick Blankl with Consillum Wealth Advisorypresented a wealth (no pun intended) of expert information about Increasing Business Value for your company – vital data especially when you’re considering long term to the time when you’ll want to sell your business and garner the best price for your life’s work – retirement is closer than you think everyone! If you missed this 9.4 rated meeting maybe have a conversation with Nick at the November meeting. THANK YOU Nick!

Returning speaker, Karen Clark, Resource Planning Specialist with the US Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division gave another well received presentation in October – critical questions and answers for our Contractor/Owner Members. THANK YOU AGAIN, KAREN.

Contractors attending the November 19 meeting being held at the Buffalo Gapwill receive 1.5 CE credit hours for this MUST ATTEND meeting as PCA National Speaker, Benji Carlson, with Breakthrough Academy presents The 3 Keys to Getting Out of the Day-to-Day in Your Painting Business. “Tailor made for the trades; we bring strong structure to your entire business and anchor it with clear achievable goals.” Register here!
