PCA Portland Chapter Year-End Recap:
Celebrating 86 Years of Excellence

Dear PCA Portland Chapter Members and Industry Friends,

As we close the chapter on another remarkable year, we want to take a moment to reflect on the milestones and successes that have defined the Painting Contractors Association Portland Chapter in 2023. This year marks our 86th year of existence, and we are proud to continue our legacy of fostering success among local painting contractors.

At the core of our mission is the dedication to the success of our members through the promotion of professional ethics, skill building, peer-to-peer support, and encouragement. We provide numerous opportunities for painting contractors to develop and grow their businesses, from educational programs to local networking meetings, and the utilization of the PCA Industry Standards.

Here are some of the highlights from this memorable year and things to look forward to in the new year:

1. Successful Golf Tournament: On July 6, we hosted a successful and enjoyable golf tournament at Langdon Farms. The event saw the participation of 76 golfers who enjoyed a beautiful sunny day on the course. The support of 20 sponsor companies added to the success of the event, reaffirming the strength of our industry partnerships.

2. Mark your calendar for June 24 for our Annual Golf Tournament which will take place at Stone Creek Golf Club in Oregon City: Stone Creek Golf Club is a Peter Jacobsen / Jim Hardy designed golf course. Presenting spectacular views of Mt Hood, the course perfectly depicts the Pacific Northwest. Stone Creek is laid over 165 acres of land with old growth Douglas Firs, Lakes, and features some of the best greens in Oregon (OR).

3. We are thrilled to announce a special networking get-together usher in the New year: Save the Date for our 2024 Kick-Off Happy Hour at Wildwood Taphouse in Cedar Mill on January 10, 2024. Join us for an evening of camaraderie, connections, and casual conversations at a local brewpub in Cedar Mill. We're excited to gather together, celebrate our achievements, and set the stage for a prosperous year ahead. REGISTER HERE.

4. Educational Programs: We hosted some impactful educational programs focusing on crucial aspects of the painting industry:

  • Estimating – From Beginner to Superstar – Improving Your Game
  • Hot Topics: Peer to Peer Discussions Led by Experienced Leaders
  • You Passed the Test, But Do You Comply?

These programs provided valuable insights and knowledge, empowering our members to excel in their craft and business operations, while also providing valuable CCB credits!

5. Save the dates for three exciting educational programs in 2024, scheduled to take place at Buffalo Gap on February 21, April 17, and October 16: These events promise to be invaluable opportunities for individuals keen on expanding their business and enhancing their knowledge within the painting industry. As always, CCB credit will be available, adding an extra layer of value to these educational programs. Whether you're a seasoned professional or someone looking to enter the industry, these events are tailor-made to enrich your skills and broaden your horizons.

6. Associate and Affiliate Night: In September, Veenhuizen Painting graciously hosted a super fun Associate and Affiliate Night. This event provided a platform for our Associate and Affiliate members to showcase the latest innovations from their companies, fostering connections and collaboration within our painting community.

7. New Membership Management Platform and Website: To enhance member experience and communication, we transitioned to a brand-new membership management platform and website. Members can now easily communicate through a dedicated forum, manage their profiles, view other members, register for events, and renew their membership online.
